T.R. Whitefox

T.R. Whitefox is a Kiowa poet from Oklahoma, raised in a traditional household under the guidance of a medicine man. Deeply influenced by his parents’ singing, he found his own voice through music and storytelling before turning to poetry.

In 1975, he began writing as part of a personal journey of change and reflection. His work speaks to the realities of Native life, offering words of strength, healing, and connection.

This collection honors the teachings of Elders and the importance of preserving traditional values through storytelling, carrying forward the wisdom of Native communities for future generations.
